Jen to Re: Gas Prices
Cannot compare prices with others..our prices here today up in the mountains was $1.86 a gallon. We don't go to Costco or Safeway. Just go to the gas stations which we have around us.~Jen

howard to all
It's 47 degrees here in south Florida this morning, and it's too cold to go out to check gas prices. Sorry. Maybe when it warms up some.

The 1911 Canadian Census is free to search ... you can see all listed under a certian surname for a whole province ... it is also linked to the 1901 census. I put the surname LaBonte in ... and I see the break down per Canadian Provence is .... Alberta 14 Labontes listed ... British Columbia 8 .. Manitoba 2 ... Ontario 134 .. Quebec 1752 ... Sask 5. And you can look at each household .. to see if you can find a match.

Interestingly enough ... my g grandfather James Douglas of Lambton County Ontario .. was 3 and a half years in the American Civil war. Family story has it that he and friends from Ont .. got working in lumber camps in Michigan ... when someone came in looking for men to sign a sheet .. and because James could not read .. he did not know he was signing himself into the Union Army.

Do as Ken said in an earlier post and google the three censuses. I tried 1871 and got a number of hits. Many of which were England's census, but there was some for Canada.

Thanks for the reply! Douglas is such a common last name and I suspected there might not be a fit. BB

Thanks for all the information, Ken!! I'll try what you suggested. Since the Canadian Census is free, is there a web address for it? I know you said 1911 census indexing project..but wanted to make sure. ~Jen
