Elihue J. Hicks married Lucinda Hackney on 20 Sept 1884 by minister N.B. Gray. The parents were listed as Jessee and Sarah Hicks, and John and Susan Hackney. In the lost marriage record of russell county, 1848-1853, I found that on 30 Jan 1851 Jessee Hicks (21) married Sarah Ann White (18). The minister was listed as Christian Easterly.

You are moving right along with this line. Now you have a couple of more names to search...Hackney and White. I did not check to see if there are cemetery listings on the usgenweb for that part of Russell county.

I have found several Jesse Hicks but not one in 1850 who was of an age to be yours so can't find His parents. Most were from KY. Found ones (b) 1814 and 1845/46 range but no 1830 range. Thought he might be found 1850 w/parents.

it looks as if Boon Felton was a General in the War of 1812. Mohter is not listed but father is said to be Elisha 3rd son of Richard FELTON the 3rd. This Richard is said to be the start of the NC FELTON's. Elisha also served in NC state assembly 1800 to 1817 and Senate until his death in 1821.
