The test would be to play a music CD. If you can hear the music from the CD it isn't the speakers but maybe a connection internally. We've gotten so used to the sounds we hear from the speakers that we're not even conscious that they are working.

It sure is a shame that you cant hear the music. I am sure ADMIN spent hrs putting it on here. Do you have a neighbor that would let you use his computer just to listen to the music ?
