I went online to look for City Directory's. Most that I found were 'shell's' to Ancestry and of course they wanted money to join. The other one I found looked promising, until I kept clicking. They wanted folks to let them know if in your area what depositories had City Directories. Then when you kept clicking--your state--your county, viola......a link to a page that would sell you a copy to a lookup of the name! $15.00 ea, and $6.95 for shipping!!! What, paper???? Try maybe 37Cents! Anyway, why don't you email the volunteers through USGenWeb and see if anyone would do a lookup for you?

Hi there friend! I was real surprised at the site that looked pretty promising. It pleaded for us to help them find all the places that held city directories. But when you kept clicking, there was a tiny brown button over to the right of every link, and that is the place where the order for $$$$$$ was! AAArrrgghhh!!!!

AX... I'm worried about your Asa Weaver/Brown New England connection. I have both WEAVER and BROWN but they were all late 1700's, early 1800's Canada. Perhaps loyalists? I don't know, but they originated in the NY, MA areas.
(PS I have a photo of an Asa who I can't identify but someone important to the family in the 1800's)
