I see talk here of adoption so will add my experiance. I found my brother who was given up for adoption by going to the state he was given up in,I went to the courthouse in county he was adopted in. Many (most) states now have laws whereby if all parties concerned are of age the state will contact the person not making the request to let them know they are being sought. If all parties agree you get each others phone numbers. I looked for years but when I went that route it all happened quickly. If you tell them you are looking because there are health/medical reasons (A family history of something) they seem even more interested in helping. They never asked me what the medical reason was. If you can't get to the place write and they will send paperwork for you to fill out and return.

Mailed those papers and check for expenses. You should get by weekend or Mon.

I found a new ARNOLD Mary Louisa ARNOLD her parents were Johathan ARNODL and Mary A. HUNT. Mary Louisa married Herman RICE and had Lois who married ?Cairns and Helen Mary who married ? MANAGER. They were in Allegany County NY Jonathan ARNOLD b 1835.

May I ask what state, and which entity asked you to fill out the papers? The state offices or the county? Here in my state every county is interpreting the new privacy laws differently. I would like to know how to contact my cousin. I would like to put info into her file, I guess it is at the state level? I don't know how to start.
