Sounds like the genealogy bug has bitten you! It happens that way. Is usually associated with the death of someone close. Happened to be after my father's sudden death in 1991. Now I have a million questions I would like to ask him. You may check my FTM site at:

KING -- ANDERS -- ATWELL
I guess I should have gone into more detail concerning my reason for being at the cemetary. I did not mean to sound so mystical and ominous. I got sort of tickled at your question -- What did you find at that cemetary? -- The reason I went was to visit my grandfather's grave. Although he died when I was 6 years old, I am at a time in my life that I really need him and I went there to sort of think. It is not often that I go there. Anyway, I got to wondering about some of the others who are kin to me. My mother often talks of times when she was little as though it was wonderful.

Welcome to the room. Post the surnames in caps. that you are researching along with given names, dates, & locations. Maybe someone here is searching for the same line. What did you find at that cemetary?

Well, I am very new at this so tell me what goes on here. Do we all get to find out more about ourselves and where we came from? I ended up here after visiting a cemetary in Jersey, AR yesterday (Shady Grove Cemetary). Anyone heard of it?

I agree with your sentiments. If the money grubbing genealogy sites want to buy my genealogy then maybe they can sell it. Otherwise tough, won't go their either.

Good morning room from sunny Washington. Con I had to get a password to post there, don't go in hardly at all anymore. Too much trouble. Waiting for several things to come snail mail. When you can't get info on computer, have to get out the check book and wait again. So have been busy catching up with chores. No pups in two weeks. Longest we have gone. Hope everyone is well here.
Talk to you soon Toni

After spending several hours, I have learned that genforum is now a moneymaking deal. I have no interest in making money off of genealogists, so I'm removing genforum from my favorites list. Any who have questions about 'Sams Family of Virginia' can pose them here or use my addy:

diane to anyone having trouble posting at GenForum
If you are having trouble posting at GenForum, you might look at this site. It can sometimes answer your questions. Of course, if you are having trouble posting, you can't ask questions at this forum, but many times, someone else has had the same problem.http://genforum.genealogy.com/genforum/

I have just been to Genforum to check it out, since i read a few comments here about having trouble posting. I found Genforum to be the same as it has been for awhile. Yes, a few years ago they changed to making you log in with a password. However, if you always post from the same computer, you don't have to do it after the first time. The computer remembers you. So give it your email addy, and choose a password, write it down somewhere and you should be on your posting way. *¿*

On my way to bed..sorry I cannot help you, Con. I believe at one time you needed so many people in order to get a name listed on genforum. Haven't been on there for quite some time, so don't know why you are having problems. NYTOL!!

I too found that it was hard to get some names on genforum. Then other times some names that you would not think to find are on there. I guess you can still set up a name forum there. Its been awhile and I am still tring to get on there to post some information and ask questions. Not the same as before.
