Elphage Boivin had a son named Jean Gaspard Boivin, born Bet. 1824 - 1831 in St. Marie, Quebec died 1902 in Skowhegan, Somerset, Maine. Jean's mother is unknown.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jean BOIVIN who is also known as John DRINKWINE moved to Brewer, Maine after having shipped off the banks of newfoundland since he was 13, he stayed there 4 years and at some point during that time he married Henrietta MORIN. She had been married to Pierre CHASE (Chasse) 1852 or 1853. Pierre may have died at sea. After his death Henrietta married my Jean BOIVIN sometime between 1860-1864, and then moved to Skowhegan where they proceeded to have several children. At some point all but one child, Lillian (Lillia) BOIVIN b. 7 Sept 1869 d. 1954 Skowhegan, died of TB. No one seems to know how Henrietta died. But, John (jean BOIVIN) supposedly remarried a Mrs. HUNTER, although I believe it is possible that Mrs Hunter and Henrietta are the same person. John DRINKWINE(Boivin) is found age 25 in the 1860 census of Penobscot Co., Orone Twnp. page 961. He was from Canada and single at that time. Henrietta is believed to be Metis.

Another possibility for research is to go to the Rootsweb BWO (Books We Own) site and post a query. Someone may be willing to do a lookup on that book for you and if your info is included, you can then order it. If it isn't included, will save you some time and money.

Thank you so much for the look up for me. I am thrilled. Sorry it took me so long to answer. I haven't been on the computer. No puppies for two days so really getting the house cleaned. Kids got me some of those discs you see advertised on TV to move your heavy furniture, and they really work. So I have been doing all the rugs. Thanks again, now I can move onto the next step.
