When I first got connected to the internet with Southwestern Bell,I created my first Yahoo account. Then SWBELL joined forces in the email dept. It's now called SBC -- I had so much trouble with my ISP I cancelled my account -- which un-be-known to me rendered my first account with Yahoo cancelled as well. It was a big mess,and I'll not bore you with the details. I hyst changed my 'signature' on my iarethe1 account at Yahoo. Hopefully that wiil help solve future problems --- sorry for whatever problems I have caused for you.

Thanks for the tip. I will do just that. I know quite a few of them died while in North Carolina although the majority of them migrated from North Carolina to South Carolina then on to Blount Cou. AL. A few of the decendants went on to Texas where they settled and for which the county was named -- Ellis County, Texas. Think I am going to go to my local family history library and order that filmstrip of the book entitled 'Historical Skectches of the BYNUM Family' by Jasper E. BYNUM. Sure wished one could view its contents online instead of having to go somewhere and view it. Oh well, just a wish.

That's interesting about Edward Ruggle's mother. I had always heard that he had been adopted for a short time by a ship builder & then the man go really ill, so he went back to his given name (COONLEY)& took Ruggles as a middle name. What type of genealogy help are you looking for? I find that Genforum.com/surnameofyourchoice works very nicely. As does Genconnect, which is now run by ancestry.com, but it is free, they took it over a few years ago.

I have been looking for the place where my Great-Grandfather, Edward Ruggles COONLEY was born & I think I found it today. I believe he was b 5 Nov 1822 in Seneca, Seneca Co., NY. I cannot find a town called Seneca, but the above is how it was listed..which would lead me to believe there is a town by the name of Seneca. Does anyone know who is familiar with NYS?
