I see that you have a CLARY. I have some in the south. This is just off the top of my head. I think that the earlies ones that I have are in Tennesee in the early 1800's. I will check later when I have the time to see what I really have. Was not to long ago emailed something from a CLARY.

Hi Belly!...and Kit, CDMom, Pat, Bea, Rae (wow, long time), ll, and a big welcome to Gladys! Thanks to all for the B-day wishes..... Pat, I loved that little story about not recording any births/deaths LOL, but I'm sure it was no exaggeration on their part back then :-) That kind of history is always fun to learn about.

Thanks to: Patricia Wazny-Hamp hamp@voyager.net The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is one of the gems of our state. It is remote and scenic, and great for getting back to nature. During the winter though, the snow totals can reach gigantic proportions. More than four feet of snow on the ground at any one time is normal in many areas. So while scanning newspaper films this gave me a laugh. The Daily Mining Gazette Oct. 2, 1899, Houghton, Michigan Calumet-Laurium Section A SUPERVISOR IS CALLED DOWN Did Not Report Any Births or Deaths in His Township--Hopes to Next Year A township officer states that according to the returns made to Lansing by a supervisor of one of the northern townships in this state, which was recently received by a state official, the report failed to show that there had been any births or deaths in his township during the year. This being such an unusual circumstance, the state authorities thought an error had been made, and this supervisor was accordingly written to for an explanation. He promptly replied that he had been supervisor of that township for a number of years, and knew of no birth or death occurring in it during that period. He also vouch-safed the information that the population was made up of a shifting body of railroad and lumber employees, most of whom had no families, and who remained in any one place only a short time. Then he added: 'P.S. A couple got married here last week. If they don't starve to death this winter, I will report them next year.'

image not available for viewing but.... the WY 1880 US Fed. Census Index shows these CLEGG individuals all on the same census page, which includes an EDMOND CLEGG (not Edmund - at least that's how the data entry person typed/spelled the entry)? Chances are they'd prob. be in the same household, but guess you'd need to see the actual census page to determine... Anna C. CLEGG, Arthur C. CLEGG, Edmond CLEGG, Elizabeth CLEGG, Emma CLEGG, and Sarah CLEGG are on State: WY Year: 1880 County: Sweetwater County - Record Type: Federal Population Schedule - Township: Rock Springs - Page: 280 - Database: WY 1880 Federal Census Index

Good morning everyone. Looks like we are in for a nice spring-like day here today in Northern Utah. If any one happens to run accross any information concerning my gr gr grandparents James HEEDLEY and his wife whose name I have yet to learn, please let me know. My email address is bdorsett801@msn.com. I have found out a considerable amount of information on my gr grandfather, but know virtually nothing about his parents. So if anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it and in turn would try to help them any way that I can. Thanks. Bea Dorsett
