Thanks to Patrick and Jessica for answering my qestions. I am very impressed with this response, and certainly appreciate this list.
Last night I was going over papers and found an article on the SIOUX CITY BOUND WESTERN STAGE. It stated that it left Fort Dodge's HAY MARKET SQUARE, went to MARKET ST. HILL. Ford the Des Moines River and climbed the Western bank to the PRARIE. Also that the best stop was POWER CROSSING owned by Steve Powers.
Where would the HAY MARKET SQUARE, and MARKET ST. HILL have been? I have always admired Power Crossing. My Mother claimed to have danced in the ballroom in her youth. I didn't know it by that name.
Any help would be appreciated.

I came across some information on my John Jacob TRIER the other night. J Jacob TRIEREnlisted 8/11/62 as a Private. On 8/11/62 he mustered into 'C' Co., 122nd Infantry. He was Mustered out on 5/15/1863. Since this information came from: 'History of PA Volunteers, 1861-1865, I believe that J J TRIER was in the CW in PA. I have been advised that chances are that I will not find anything at the National Archives because this man was not an NCO or Officer. Now What?
