Looking for information about the MOONEY family of Elgin, NE. Specifically, Lauretta MOONEY (1903-1967), who married Anton OVERMOHLE (1896-1974)in 1927 in Elgin. These are my g-grandparents. They farmed in the Elgin area until about 1940, and then moved to Roselle, IA. Lauretta's parents were George E. MOONEY and Josephine F. HOEFER of Elgin. Any information on the MOONEY family would be very helpful.

Also looking for information/stories about the HOEFER/MOONEY mercantile store in Elgin, NE. It was built in March 1909 by Theodore HOEFER, who went into business with his sons and his son-in-law, George MOONEY. The store was destroyed by Elgin's worst fire on April 28, 1909 and rebuilt and back in business by September 1909. The store went bankrupt in October 1912.
