Linda (nee Schaerer) to All
Researching the birth location of Mary Ellen Allen (nee Halloran or O'Halloran or O'Holleran or Hollarn), b. 12 SEP 1868 Michigan d. 1920s Washougal, Clark County, Washington
Married: John Thomas Allen (b. 08 SEP 1867 IOWA d. 1951 YAKIMA, WA)on NOV. 01, 1890 in Westside, Iowa
Thus far, I know her parents were born in Ireland and do not know the proper spelling of her maiden name. It was told through family that her mother was Caroline Bridget O'Brien her father's first name is not known.
She is found in 1893 historical newspaper in Crawford County, Iowa, near Vail with John Thomas Allen and their first born child, James Hugh Allen. John Thomas Allen's father gave them the north 160 acres of his land to farm.
The other children born were William Allen, Charles Vincent Allen, Michael Allen, Mabelle Caroline Allen, Leo Francis Allen, Dorothy Beatrice Allen, Mary Gertrude Allen - all deceased. Death certificate spellings of their mother's maiden name vary.
1880 Wayne, Michigan census shows Ann Halloran as Widowed and the youngest daughter is Mary E. Halloran, age 12. See family at http://www.angelfire.com/on3/cougarfamily/johntallen.html
Many Thanks to all who can assist us in finding our grandmother and great grandmother.
Happy New Year!

I'm still looking for my elusive John Jacob TRIER. I was told he was born in Buffalo, NY 2 July 1835...now I find on the 1880 census & what the LDS put out that he was born in PA. Now where do I turn?
