Would there be anyone here who might have access to the 1870 Alabama Census? If so, could you please look to see if there might be a Joseph WOODELL who is listed with two young 'servants' a boy of approximately 10 years old and a 7 yrd old girl. These people took in my great grandfather and his sister following the ??? of their parents. Better still wold be a lead on the parents of my great grandfather, James Marion Heedley born 6 or 7 August 1866 in Saint Clair, Alabama.

I found information which would lead me to believe that my GGrandfather, John Jacob TRIER served in the CW in WI 1861-62 & then I found out that he served in the CW in PA 1862-63. In both cases he was a volunteer & was on the Union side. Any chance that he could have served twice in 2 different states?
