Are you now in contact with the friend who was specializing in research in Ireland? I am still at a brickwall on the parents of my grandpa, John Francis O'BRIEN, b. June 27, 1843 somewhere in Ireland and came to US as a 9 year old stow-away. First proven paper trail is his marriage 1877 to Clarka GRANT in Carroll Co. TN. I have information from what may be his baptism record in Dublin. iT only shows John O'BRIEN and no middle name.

Thanks, went to your site.I had it booked marked at one time. So many of the same MATTHEWS names, and I cannot connect any where.I guess you don't have a Francis MATTHEWS ..maybe he was a brother way back,to one of yours? It is a mystery. I have a few that are sure they know our Francis parents. But can never give me any real proof. They just say it fits!)So I have left that one open as usual.

That is not my site, but it is my line and the O'BRIEN information came from me. The site belongs to a GRANT cousin through Clarka's first marriage to PENDERGRASS. It has lots of information for many surnames in that part of Tennessee and maybe even my photo! http://www.the-watchers.com/index.htm

Well, I think the BROWN I was thinking of isn't related either. My BROWN is Wilson B. BROWN & he's in Winnipeg, Canada. I believe he married a relative of mine. I received this information back in 2000 & have been waiting to see if anything would come up on it.

Mar, you should get on the Erie County List. I have gotten plenty of feed back from the group. They are friendly & helpful. If you have the names & enough information, I am sure someone on the list would do a look up for you. The list is through Rootsweb. If you don't have the Url, I will get it for you. I am subscribed under the Digest Mode..that way you don't get so much mail.

Found a Catharine TRIER in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY. These are burials which I believe were between 1850-1866. I also show a J. SLOAN & a W. SLOAN. Show a E.S. WILBUR & a L.D. WILBUR (not the same sp.as you have). Do not see any ARNOLDS or DEWEYS.

I have been through that list. But we have no first name to this SLOAN. (He m..Elizabeth ARNOLD) Our next SLOAN..m..Ethel BROWN (dau.of Lucy Jane MATTHEWS) Sort of figure they come down some how. But have not been able to conect that. I can find Wm.SLOAN and a Johnathan, around that area and time. But nothing more to connect them either.Glad you found Catherine there) The WILBER line we have done real well and way back.

It possible that Catharine could have been John Jacob TRIER's mother with those dates. Right now all I know is that John Jacob TRIER was b 2 July 1835 in Buffalo, NY.

I will keep an eye out for SLOAN & DEWEY. Do you have ARNOLD pretty much finished up or are you still working on that one? BROWN is going to be a hard one. Like I said, the BROWN I had was someone who married a relative of mine. However, this gentleman happened to write to me. You never know what you are going to find. Any other names?? Once I'm finsihed with TRIER, I will be working in NYS & VT full time.

Sorry, I did get taken away from this, and will again soon probably. So you'll know if i don't answer for awhile) DEWEY is really not my line. That is wife of our Robert ARNOLD's brother. And I got tons on them. trying to get my own. Some are just easy to find. then there are those others. ARNOLD, well we made a big dent. Finally found a gal through IRISH side in Georgia.Had a booklet our Thersa had written all in it. But left us with a question. We had always thought Ascenath BROWN (another BROWN) was Hiram's wife.In this little book, it said Hiram and wife Miriam were buried in a private ceme.on the ARNOLD homestead. (have not found a ceme. yet) Hirams dad was John, son of oliver, son of Nathan born in England. .... I just have had no tme much to do much since then.

I understand what it means to be busy. I get a few sentences typed out & then I have to do something else. Not a problem with me...just get back when you can. I won't spend too much time with DEWEY. Doesn't sound as though you are lacking in that area. By the way, have you ever looked on Cyndi's List for your names? I have looked for mine & I find nothing. Then I go to another site & I find all kinds. I thought that was a bit unusual. I really hit pay dirt a few years ago..found the name & email of a lady who did research on all my COONLEYS..it was on the LDS site. She sent me things which I would have never had if it were not for her.

Well, may get a few mins.here. DEWEY I really do not need, thanks. Cyndi's...I have not had any luck there, Gen forum and roots message I have done the best. Or searching Google for family pages by names. The most was Gen Forum. I dis find a site on ARNOLDS and found our COOKS went to those. The odd part is COOK ..m..MATTHEWS. But her dad m. an ARNOLD way back. Think it was Wm.ARNOLD. Printed it off and in notebook. But this Nathan ARNOLD from England I haven't had time to do much. And down to Hiram, now we have no last name for wife Miriam. Well, that is what makes it interesting) Maybe he was marroied twice, and Ascenath BROWN was right somewhere in time. Not sure now.

Good evening. Just in for a few minutes to post a surname for one of my children's father's lines. I am looking for information on a William RINGLE, born 13 July 1907 in Michigan, exact location unknown. He died in San Antonio, Bexar, TX on 6 Dec 1994. I know he had one daughter, Elizabeth, who is my son's father's mother. Elizabeth had three children out of wedlock and placed them all but one up for adoption. She raised her daughter to maturity. Her sons were adopted by a Mennonite couple in Hamilton, MT and were named by them. Eldon Samuel and Marcus ? HOCHSTETLER. If anyone has any information on Mr. William Ringle or his spouse, if any, and his offspring, please email me at bdorsett801@msn.com Thanks.
