Hello everyone. Can't help but share wonderful news, the arrival of a new little one in the family, a baby girl born April 8th. My new granddaughter is a precious little beauty, born a bit early and weighing only a little over five pounds. What a blessing though!

Hello to you all! Just a reminder to us all about writing information on the back of photos. was visiting a friend who has some wonderful photos of family members. I had to see just where these where taken and guess what? No information on the back! I have a copy of what I think is a photo of my Grandma. Part of the wording is cut half lenght wise, copied backwards too! Been studing other photoes of her to see if I can make a connection.

Thank you so very much. This may be the right Nancy Jenkins. She is shown as 25 in the 1880 census. But this shows her as 18 in 1870. There is also the possibility that she was married before marrying Thomas Marion CASTEEL. Family tradition says her three small children lived with 'Granny Brown' until their father remarried. There was no Granny Brown on his side of the family, so it is possible she was Nancy BROWN who had married JENKINS prior to marrying CASTEEL. However, there are no children in the household in 1880 when Thomas is listed as 20 and she as 25 years old. So that being the case, she was a childless widow when they married. Thanks again for your help.
