Received this Url from my Iowa List today. It said that ppl can now use the Internet to check more than 50 million historical records at the National Archives, from Civil War battles to family immigration files. On The Net: National Archives' Access to Archives Databases: http://www.archives.gov/aad/ I have not checked it out yet..hopefully it will be of some help to some out there. I'm still working on my GGrandfather who inlisted in the CW in WI. I have his inlistment number & hope that will get me my information because I have so little on him.

I'll take a stab at profiles..presently searching for COONLEY, TRIER, TITUS & AMES. All but *maybe TRIER* came from NYS. I think John Jacob TRIER came from Buffalo, Erie County, NY..but have been finding conflicting information about this same TRIER, who was suppose to have come from Lancaster, PA.

I certainly appreciate the generous offer of setting up a profile. Will have to pull out my research and 'dust it off' before doing that though. Nice of you to offer us that option and I hope some of you more seasoned genealogists will lead the way. Searching CHEEK in and around Orange Co NC around late 1700s.
