When I tried to answer a question in genforum, they wanted me to order something -- without my knowing of any mail order catalog. Have no idea what they are selling. When I tried to register, they said I had already registered and they would email my 'name and password' Where are they? The site is too automated to suit me now.

Hello Ax, yes that is what they did. But they were still in AK in 1930 because they are on the census. I'd like to find them on 1910 & 1920 census. I ordered the index from FHL for 1920 and couldn't find them. Also went through Fisher town line by line on computer, No luck. Dorston was born in Fisher Town in June 1920. This was according to his on Father on Dorston's birth certificate. They did settle in CA and work later at the aircraft co. I did find Dorstons obit there in CA & Death index. Thanks for answering me. Appreciate it. Toni

I suppose you've checked the area of IL where Oscar and Mary were born. Sometimes, in that era, people returned to their earlier home for family reasons.

Hi there Con, I have tried census indexes for ILL, and the marriage index for Ill. I do not know what part of Illinois, that is one of the things I'm trying to find out.

Hello, I found in the 1900 Illinois census Henry Simpson and wife Anna and children ( one being Oscar) age 13 in Massac County Benton Pct. This is part of what I wanted. I also found their marriage Henry Simpson and Anna Mahan, married 12 Jan 1876 in Massac Co.

Okay, what's with the different color names when we post. Are we going to some type of registry to get our names in Blue?

Good evening room. tonight I am still seeking parents for Robert P WILSON b April 1836 in Preston England. Immigrated about 1840 according to census records. Married in Marion co MO to Calista Catherine (Kate) CONANT, widow of Charles Lam or Lane. I have been unable to connect Robert to parents. Family lore has it he served in the Civil War. There are two soldiers from IL that fit his discription. One from Henderson Co the other from Hancock co. Robert worked in the Woolen Manafacturing Business and at one point owned his own company. I have been unable to locate just were it was. This family lived in Blue Rapids KS in 1879 through at least 1882. There were Wool Mills there. They were in Independence MO in 1884 then on to Montineau co MO to about 1895 when the family returned to Independence MO. Robert died in Topeka KS in 1903. There is a vague relationship with the early Mormon settlements in IL and MO. His wife is the granddaughter/neice of two early church members and live in Nauvoo and Springfield IL. Robert and Kate's children. Charles (from 1st marriage) Frederick Robert, Ellen Leona, and twin boys born in 1884. They lived only a few days and I have no names for them.
